Do you want to take 8 alpacas for a walk? Of course you do, who doesn’t! And now you can with Alpacaly Ever After. If you want to walk alpacas in the Lake District then this is a good place to start. This company is very special if you love alpacas because they only run one walk, but you can book extra alpacas to walk with you. You can have 8 alpacas walking along with you – like an alpaca herder or something!
Where are the walks?
Alpacas will join you for a walk around the stunning grounds of the Lingholm estate, along the shores of Derwent Water. These are private grounds that are normally closed to the general public, and it’s famous as home to Beatrix Potter over many of her summers. She never wrote a book about alpacas, which seems like a bit of an oversight when you consider their jaunty ears and reassuring humming sound. How about ‘The Tale of Fleecylegs Humm’ – practically writes itself doesn’t it?
It all sounds very idyllic – you get to know the alpacas up close, take them for a paddle in the lake, meet the rest of the herd (and the babies!) and take part in feeding time.
Our Experiencey top tip
Walks last around 90 minutes, and you’ll need a pair of wellies if it’s going to be muddy. And you’re probably best off limiting yourself to 2 or 3 alpacas – just because you can have 8 doesn’t mean you should!
